Word on the street — and last week, Huffington Post — is that Florida is experiencing a “brewing boom.” Certainly, the number of beer-related activities and craft beer specialty venues has surged in recent years. Riding that wave this week is Kapow! Noodle Bar in Boca Raton which will host a beer dinner focused on one of Florida’s most celebrated breweries: Cigar City Brewing.

Not only will the restaurant host two seatings for a five-course meal highlighting the Tampa-based brewery, but they’ll be serving a speciality beer created just for the event. Kapow partner Vaughan Lazer said a limited edition Kapow! Apple Cinnamon IPA will be available on Tuesday night.

“They made it specifically for us for this dinner,” Lazer said of the brew, which will be served alongside a bananas Foster upside down cake for dessert. Can’t make it to the dinner on Tuesday but want to get your hands on some of the limited edition ale? Lazer said there’s a chance for some “leftovers” of the IPA and if that’s the case, customers can order it at the restaurant/bar while supplies last.

Also on the menu for Tuesday: a chilled acorn squash bisque with molasses-ginger pecan brittle (matched with Good Gourd Imperial Pumpkin Ale); cracked Caicos conch over green papaya and dehydrated mango salad with chive creme fraiche and rum drizzle (served with Guava Grove Farmhouse Ale); roasted marrow bones with Asian mushroom duxelle, fried leeks, and truffle crostinis (with Maduro Brown Ale); and horseradish-rubbed pork tenderloin, pan-friend rice cracker with sautéed baby bok choy and orange bacon jam (with Florida Cracker Belgian White Ale). The “welcome tasting” is Ligero Black Lager.

Seats for a 6 p.m. seating are very near selling out, but limited quantities may remain for the 8 p.m. spot. Tickets are $ 40 per person, plus a $ 3.19 service charge. Lazer said diners with food allergies will be accommodated whenever possible, but be certain to alert the restaurant ahead of time.

This event is a chance for the restaurant’s new executive chef, Caleb Holman, to demonstrate his approach to special event menus. Holman assumes the role previously held by Anna Feinberg, who remains at Kapow in a different leadership position. Holman previously served as the longtime sous chef at
