Zagat Survey â€" The Fast Food Edition 2012 #fastfood

Zagat announced the results of its annual Fast-Food Survey. I’ve also listed the Fast Food Edition 2011, 2010 & 2009 winners for comparison. There are more changes this year than last so they’re still worth a look. I’ve been doing this now for 4 years so I figured, might as well keep the tradition alive:

My Five Guys Burger

Five Guys is again in the top spot. Wendy’s and Burger King have each moved up a spot. In-N-Out is down 2 spots which I find kind of ridiculous and Fuddruckers replaces McDonald’s in the #5 spot. I’m surprised McDonald’s hung on for so long.

The Big Winner in the Fry Category

Chick-fil-A is holding steady in the #5 spot. In-N-Out drops off completely so I’m smelling a conspiracy.  Burger King leaps into #3 with their new fries which are eerily similar to Wendy’s old fries. McDonald’s and Five Guys hold their spots but I prefer Five Guys Fries over McDonald’s which means I should have gotten in on the voting action.

Whoever is behind Burger King’s revamp needs a raise as they seem to be coming back to where they were a few years back.  Wendy’s jumps into the #2 spot. Taco Bell moves up two spots to #3 and Subway drops one. Chipotle, Chick-fil-A and Panera Bread fall out.

Steak ‘n Shake debuts in the #1 spot in the Best Milkshake category, can’t say I care for it too much.  In-N-Out Burger which seems to be losing steam in other categories debuts at #2. Ben & Jerry’s moves up 2 while Dairy Queen falls three spots. Häagen-Dazs sneaks in at the #5 spot. Ben & Jerry’s is still my fave.
