South Florida Restaurant News: Coming Soon in Delray Beach and More

September’s roster of restaurant openings, closings, and “on decks” is still a work-in-progress, but already, it’s looking to be a hell of a lot more prolific than August’s list of comings and goings in Broward and Palm Beach counties. That, plus a few other tidbits are signaling that the summer malaise is wearing off.

Delray Beach restaurants in the works: A little bird told Clean Plate Charlie about a few restaurant projects seen popping up or nearing completion around Delray Beach in recent weeks. Among them is Papa’s Tapas (259 NE 2nd Ave.) owned by the same folks who operate nearby Papa’s Cafe. The restaurant’s Facebook page indicated that they are still in the process of hiring.

Also coming to Pineapple Grove is a venture tentatively called The Grove Restaurant (that’s the name the permit was issued for, but no easily-found website or Facebook page exists for the restaurant as of yet). The restaurant will go into 187 NE 2nd St. According to our source, this “looks close to opening” based on the condition of the interior. And finally, taking over the space formerly occupied by Dolce Amore Cafe is Bistro 241 at 241 NE Second Ave. Signs for the forthcoming restaurant carry the tagline “cuisine du marche” which roughly translates to mean it will focus on “foods from the market” and/or fresh ingredients.
