Yes! the guy’s reaction is totally authentic. He had no idea we were coming, and he really got the order right (almost right). We couldn’t believe it either, so we understand the questions…. LYRICS: I?ll start with a taco, soft like a cloud I want mine crunchy, I like to eat loud. I?ll choose a chalupa, I?ll grab a gordita, and two taco salads for our senoritas. And a Burrito Supreme, with extra sour cream It?s a cylindrically shaped seasoned beef dream. A taquito. An enchirito. Some cinnamon twists. A chicken border bowl. Are you gettin? all this? And you know that nothing beats a hmmm, mmmm…Mexican Pizza… We?ll take two of those, but please hold the diced tomatoes. And I admit, I?ve always felt, like I?m in love with the meximelt. Make mine with a little extra love, and think of me… as the cheese drops from your Taco Bell glove. and that?s it. No! I?m not done…I?ll also take a… Double-decker taco cause I?m feeling wild And make my sauce Fire. Uh, he?ll take mild. and we?ll take two Mt. Dew Baja blasts for a chance at 25 dollars cash I?m told there?s a winner for every 5 minutes I?m stealing your online code if you win it. Why would you do that? You owe me 25 bones I owe you 5. Plus interest–it was a loan. And I think we?ll be satis?ed, if we get some mexican rice on the side. And that?s it. Fast Food Folk Song – Rhett & Link
South Florida Dining Events This Week: New Times Pairings and More
There’s this little thing happening this week called the Fifth Annual New Times Pairings. Perhaps we’ve mentioned it? And as if you need any other activity (you don’t) to keep your spirits up as you slog through another week at the office, there are plenty more wine, beer, and dining events from Fort Lauderdale to Delray Beach. After the jump, find a schedule of events this week in South Florida.
Tonight
French wine tasting
Ooh la la, don your favorite beret and head over to the French Wine Merchant (139 N. County Road, Palm Beach) from 6 to 8 tonight. The tasting will feature five wines from various regions, spanning from Alsace to Loire Valley to Bordeaux. Wines will be paired with cheeses. The cost is $ 10 in advance or $ 15 at the door. Advance tickets can be reserved online, but must be booked by 4 p.m. today.
Tuesday
Wine dinner at Max’s Harvest
Mark the end of summer (finally!) with a seat at the Grgich Hills Estate’s Endless Summer Dinner at Max’s Harvest in Delray Beach. The four-course dinner will pair four wines from the winery with dishes like porcini-dusted Maine diver scallops and roasted butternut squash risotto. The cost is $ 69 per person. Reservations are required. Call 561-381-9970.
Thursday
Fifth Annual New Times Pairings
The list of new Pairings restaurants is but one of many reasons to attend this year’s event, to be held starting at 7 p.m. in the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. Read more about what you’ll find at the Fifth Annual New Times Pairings and order your advance tickets online.
Dinner and a movie at Whole Foods Market in Palm Beach Gardens
Worried about the crap your kids are getting in their school lunch? The Whole Foods Market in Palm Beach Gardens will host a viewing of Lunch Line, a documentary that looks at the past, present, and future of the National School Lunch Program. Dinner comes by way of a “health starts here” taco buffet. The cost to attend is $ 7, which will be donated to the Whole Kids Foundation to promote installing salad bars and “learning” gardens in America’s schools. The event is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Advance tickets are available online and seating is limited.
“So Long Summer” Party at RA Sushi
The RA Sushi Bar restaurants in Palm Beach Gardens and Pembroke Pines are hosting drink and food specials from 7 p.m. to close to celebrate the end of summer. Among the discounts are things like summer school chicken nuggets ($ 6) and the sunset roll ($ 6), plus $ 5 cocktails like a red/white summer sake sangria and a Long Island iced tea.
Science of Beer & Wine
Beer geeks and wine nerds, this event is for you. The South Florida Science Museum is hosting the Science of Beer and Wine from 6 to 9 p.m. to explore the true nature of our favorite adult beverages. BX Beer Depot, PRP Wine, and Brewzzi will give presentations and tastings, while museum educators lead guests through interactive elements like games and demos. They’ll even break out their liquid nitrogen to create some beer ice cream. There’s also food and music. Tickets are $ 15 to $ 20 in advance, and $ 20 to $ 25 at the door. Want to brew your own beer? That’s an extra $ 8. Call 561-370-7723.
