Magic Kingdom Serves Booze For The First Time Ever at Be Our Guest
For the first time ever, you’ll be able to get wine or beer at the Magic Kingdom.
The Be Our Guest restaurant, themed after Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, is part of the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland revamp. Located inside the Beast’s castle, diners will be able to choose from three themed rooms (the west wing, the rose gallery, and the ballroom).
Open for lunch and dinner, Be Our Guest will offer French-inspired fare like mussels ($ 10.99), French onion soup ($ 6.99), or potato leek soup ($ 5.99) for appetizers. Entrees include a thyme-scented pork chop ($ 21.99), grilled strip steak ($ 29.99), and rotisserie Cornish hen ($ 15.99).Â
For dessert there are cupcakes and mouse mousse-filled puffs.
Best of all, Be Our Guest offers an extensive wine list and a selection of beers from France and Belgium. The wines, of which there are nearly two dozen, start at $ 8 per glass and $ 35 per bottle for a Charles de Fere, Jean Louis Blanc de Blancs, and top out at $ 99 for a bottle of Château Batailley. Click here to see the entire wine list.
Though the other Disney theme parks in Orlando have served alcohol for years, this is the first time booze is being offered at Magic Kingdom.
Be Our Guest opens on November 19 and reservations are already being accepted via phone (407) 939-3463 or online.

First Lady Michelle Obama hopes to curb childhood obesity by teaching children about nutrition and exercise. “There’s no expert on this planet who says that the government telling people what to do actually does any good with this issue,” she says. But local government officials around the country have already adopted a more forceful tack, whether it’s New York’s salt assault, San Francisco’s frown at Happy Meals or, most recently, South LA’s all-out ban on new fast-food restaurants. Reason.tv spoke with Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks, one of the architects behind the ban, who argues that “in order to force choice into the market, we have to limit one that is overconcentrated and attract others that provide other options.” Reason Magazine editor in chief Matt Welch is skeptical of “the idea that you can create more choices by reducing choices,” and fitness consultant and documentary filmmaker Chazz Weaverâ"who ate McDonald’s for 30 days and lost body fatâ"points out that consumers can eat fast food in moderation and still stay healthy. Reason.tv also spoke with the co-owner of The Burger Stand in South Los Angeles about why he thinks that banning new fast-food restaurants is bad for business and bad for his community. Writer-Producer: Zach Weissmueller. Senior Producer: Ted Balaker. Camera: Hawk Jensen, Paul Detrick, Alex Manning. Approximately 8 minutes.
